I just became aware of a fantastic new site (and great idea) the other day. It’s known as “Veggie Trader“.
It all started with a lemon tree in a back yard. It was lonely and producing a ton of lemons that were not all getting used. It was with this problem, that an idea was born.
Veggie Trader is our pilot effort to see if we can help more families eat well, make the most of the environment, and put more backyards to work for the benefit of neighbors, community and country.
We think knowing where your food comes from and supporting your
local economy are more important these days than ever. And saving money (or making a little extra) doesn’t hurt either.
It’s free to sign up and if you are someone who’s growing food in your backyard (like I am), then you know how fast the excess can accumulate. (If anyone has ever grown a zucchini plant, you know what I mean!)
But they don’t stop there. Even if you don’t have a garden, it’s a great way to find local produce to buy from local and even micro growers. Yeah!
I’ve personally been using Craigslist and FreeCycle.org to give away my excess, but I’m going to give Veggie Trader a try. You should too!
Good to be green launched in 2007, and has been providing people with leading directory for green building products, sustainable building materials and green building service providers ever since. If you need to find green building products, this is the place.
Whether you are looking for commercial green products, or residential product, or want to find green building professionals, you can find them there. If you are a green building professional, you can get listed there too.
Drop on over and have a look!

I love it when tech goes green. I just got an email about the world’s first recyclable USB drive. Not only that, the company making them is partnering with American Forests and getting involved in reforestation. Yeah!
Here is their announcement:
ATP is launching EarthDrive Project, a program initiated in conjunction with a partnership with American Forests, a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration. With each EarthDrive sold, ATP will donate a portion of the profits to help plant trees in order to contribute to the efforts of offsetting our carbon footprint and restoring the environment.
I missed posting this before their Earth Day contest, but go on over there and check them out, and see where you can pick up these drives.
Any bought one yet? If so, review it here!
